"audio music recording is much more important than recording video from a TV, cable, or satellite feed. "

Hi Billy,
I think that video recording in extremely important. Most people use their vcr for time-shifting (ie, watching programs at times other than they were originally broadcast), not movie rentals. According to one of the articles released over the weekend, this new chip is supposed to lead to the development of a recordable dvd product for video. Personally, I think this is where the real market is. Then it can be goodbye to the VCR and hello to DVD.

As far as recording audio on CD's, well, there are tons of recordable CD devices on the market.
