It would be enough for a single fund to come out buying, or a single brokerage to front-run their recommendation. Or a Vinick imposing a short panic. The news from Bell Atlantic would indicate a significant near-term spending program for ADSL which is overdue from the local Bells. If they all want to jump on the wagon then pair would probably be acquired if the build-out needed to be quick. AT&T is getting very public about its cable access build up and the local bells' answer to that should be good for Pairgain. I'm just speculating about the speculation, which must be at fever pitch now. Greg
