Hello Robert,

It seems some-how the financial world has come to **manage** the bad news.
Collectively.

It's possible that Oct 1987 resulted in a series of safety nets that
players have come to expect and perhaps have come to recognise.
Futures contracts are a remarkably powerful tool and obvious only
to those who have their noses to the screen.

This thread has had a lot of interesting comments on the fed's
action and particularly by Hiam who has been incensed by the actions
taken by the Fed in the LTCM problem.

Is this indicitive of a systemic process of covering-up mistakes?
Like in Japan....?

We might be watching the unwraping of a 25 year experiment.
I don't realy believe it's around the corner....but I sure hope our
noses are close enough to the screen to see it...
I expect they are...?
Another stronge day on the plus side...good, everbody makes money and feels good.
Chip
