Aren't people allowed to adjust their lives according to their priorities at the time? Why can't people take time off for family responsibilities when they happen to be critical, such as taking care for a child, or taking care for an ill parent, or for handling a complicated estate? In the third case, I had to take the better part of a year off to handle an estate unpaid. Of course, the ability of one to accomodate such emergencies depends on their financial circumstance and I don't advocate everyone taking time off.

JMO...Most people who strive to prove their greatness, end up either being tyrannical or oppressive creeps. People that love what they do, parenting or otherwise, have much more quality in life and a better chance of contributing to or producing greatness.
