One of the biggest unknowns about Y2K is what will happen in the third world and how much will this impact the first. I think we'll see more of the following type of stories:

Kenya millennium bug report to finish in April 2000

NAIROBI, Kenya (Reuters) - The Kenyan government has formed a committee to investigate problems that may be caused by the so-called millennium bug -- but its final report is due to be published months after the much-prophesised collapse of non-compliant computer systems.

The Daily Nation newspaper reported that the government formed the committee on October 19 and ordered a final report on the consequences of the millennium bug in 18 months time.

"This fixed the deadline at April 2000, four months after the bug will have taken effect," the paper said.

NJI: Re: "Does anyone have the technical expertise to evaluate Alydaar's technology and compare to other alternatives?"

Looks like nobody responded to your question. I have the expertise and sufficient relevant experience to review ALYD's software and then compare to other solutions I have seen.

I've done several other free-to-the-company reviews in the past (Vertex 2000 from BMR Software, CSGI, PTUS, VIAS, Matridigm/ZITL) and posted the results here on SI. I'll be doing another one in a couple of weeks (VXTK). Is anybody (and that includes ALYD, the company) willing to pay my expenses to visit their headquarters for a whiz bang demo and comparative analysis session?
