Thanks, Sean, and Unixgeek. I do appreciate your assistance. I'm trying to take your advice to heart, Sean, but I just can't seem to ditch the attitude yet.

I'm really not trying to make this any harder than necessary. When I received the QP2 package Saturday, I fully expected to be able to sit down with the documentation and make it work. I couldn't. And it's not that I'm stoopid. Maybe it's because the documentation, both hardcopy and on disk, is woefully inadequate. For example, where does this "flag" function come from? Your responses were the first time I'd heard of it, and I read ALL the documentation. There must be many other functions that one must know to use the program effectively that aren't discussed in the documentation. I don't think that's the way it should be.

Maybe I expected QP2 to be an upgrade, when, in effect, it is actually a different program. An upgrade would have come with a utility to automatically rewrite the QP1 scans, wouldn't it? I don't recall ever getting a MetaStock upgrade that required rewriting all my formulas.

You're very generous to rewrite my scans for me, but really, how can I effectively use a program I don't understand. I don't need QP2. It's way more than I require in terms of scanning capability. QP1 suited my purposes ideally.

I know nothing about TC2000 other than the ads in TASC. My impression is that it is probably more "user friendly" than QP2, targeted toward the masses. My guess is that in the time I've already spent on QP2, I could have mastered TC2000. Maybe I'm wrong; I'll know more in a few days. BTW, between QP1 and RealTick3, I find that I rarely use Metastock these days. If TC2000 suits my purposes and I feel comfortable using it, I'll switch. Otherwise I'll probably have to bite the bullet and ask you to be a crutch a few more times.

Thanks again,
Gary
