It is very difficult to communicate a complicated concept in a few brief posts. A loss of children is a terrible thing to overcome.
The fathers stability came from his inner strength. His strength in this case was the exception, no argument there. However, whatever pulled this man to react this way wasn't necessarily religion or lack thereof. I can cite many more faithful, believing Christians who never get over a childs death and let it destroy them.

Where this man was helped by faith I know of a 13 year old girl who committed suicide because she was pregnant and couldn't face the Christian lectures of condemnation from her Christian parents and friends at sunday school. Her parents did not handle this near so well because they pictured their daughter in hell. The question I would liked to have asked but didn't dare was how they could be happy in heaven with their beloved child in hell. I for one do not accept that I would be happy.

†...Hi Mark, that was a great witness...><>

Truly a remarkable statement of that man's faith in Jesus Christ, and the promises of God. And your witness reminded me of this:

Some yrs. ago a friend of mine told me about his friend.
He arrive home early from the office one afternoon to help prepare for his son's 10 birthday. It was going to be a surprise party.

After getting all things prepared the parents were anxious to see the look on their son's face when he came through the front door and saw his grandparents who flew in that morning...(That would be part of the surprise).

Right on time the school bus approached his corner, and their son stepped off and began to cross the street to his waiting surprise party. He was hit by a speeding automobile. In just minutes His parents were there. The child was twisted, and bloodied, beyond recognition. Prayers were immediately said by the parents and all others joined in. Within 10 minutes the ambulance arrived, began to administer emergency procedures and within 3 min. the child was pronounced dead. There was no hope at all. The father knelt down at the side of his broken and dead little boy, picked up his limp body, held him up over his head to God, and said aloud, "Thank you Father for letting me have him for these 10 beautiful yrs."
The boy was truly dead....But said the Father "he is now in the arms of his Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ".

The people were in awe and testified to one another of such faith they had witnessed.

Have a good evening
Shalom...><>
