Hey zax, any idea who paid for that motley fool flier to be inserted into all those brokerage statements? That easily would cost hundreds of thousands, depending on how flashy it was..

It was a beautiful full color joint brochure! It looked so professional, too!

Invest in AOL, AMZN and YHOO! Don't ever short these stocks! Short other internet stocks, but NOT THESE! These are the leaders and the rich only get richer!

(say, doesn't AOL have the right to purchase a piece of the Garnder's business? hmmmmmmmm.)

Datek apparently distributes this fliers to all their clients with the monthly statements in exchange for advertising space on the Gardner brothers' web site.

An interesting aside that Datek hasn't let anyone short AMZN since the very day it originally hit 143. They call this an "official brokerage decision".

Also note that TMF is apparently in part compensating employess with stock options, I have heard.

I would have to say that it gives the rather strong appearance that my brokerage, Datek, is in a rather complex circle jerk relationship with TMF, who is in a circle jerk with AMZN, AOL and YHOO.

Say how about the TMF newsfeed to Yahoo! ? I wonder what pays for that. Who pays who? Is it money? Is it free?

I'm sure TMF has complete editorial independance from their patrons, don't you? They chose to hype the stocks completely of their own free will.

Isn't stock speculating fun?

Next I suspect they will invent a whole new mathematical system in which negative numbers are positive and positive are positive too.

WrongWay, That system was invented hundreds of years ago, maybe even thousands. It is called an absolute number and you need it for some mathematics to work. Since most of these anals just got out of school recently it is no surprise they invoked the concept to justify valuations. -g-
