"As far as abandoned SyQuest users go, well I feel fairly certain that someone will end up with the rights to manufacture disks."

I hope so, because there is a fair number of SparQ's out there. As luck would have it, CompUSA just opened a store near me and I went in there for the first time yesterday. There were a _bunch_ of SparQ's on the shelves. I wonder what they will be going for when the dust settles. I just might have to get back there next weekend, but at the moment I feel sorry for the unlucky people who buy one now (even though disks may be available, service is going to be a nightmare).

Dale, ingrams and merisel inventory of sparq product is very very low now, so i doubt you will see much of a fire sale, i did not check the other stuff they make, but the inventory of all sparq drives and disks is like one week of jaz stuff....i think that you will see an impact right away when the dealers who call ingram to get orders for sparq and are told "they are out of business" they will fill with jaz2..it happens all the time, if they have sales lined up they will sell what they can get and that will be jaz and zip....the faster the news gets out the better...in fact i have already spread the news at ingram, merisel, and techdate......
