public message...although i use e-trade, if you're doing momentum trades, i'd not suggest e-trade. go to a mbtrading, a yamner, someone else...they'll get your executions quickly, and they won't be $10 trades ($20-50?) but if you're doing 1000 shares, they'll get you in and out quickly, and the 1/16 it saves will more than make up for it.

jeff, I have been throwing around ideas of a new on line broker for a few months now. I currently use Ameritrade(they SUCK), but have collected information from Cos and posters alike. I will open an account with another broker probably in the next month or so. I'm leaning hard towards Brown & CO. and wondering if you or any one here had any thoughts regardiung them?

I thought of just closing and transfering funds from AMTD, but as some suggested, it's a good idea to have a few backups, just in case. I also have a PW account that is more of a long time collection of sorts, but most my trades are online now). What I think I'm saying is that maybe don't close your other account until you get comfortable with another.

I might work 2 or 3 of them in '99, and make a final decision based upon performance.

Hope the broker stuff isn't out of line here. I'd post a favorite or two, but I'm just resting for a day or two.

best regards.

Hi Jeff
Glad you started this thread. TM is just too hard to figure out.
anyway about brokers, bidwell & co in Portland now has a 12$ online service. I've been with them for three years without complaint.
Also if you could shed some light on a stock I got married to along time ago when I was young and quite naive.
INFS
Employer of Choice, Best Product Awards, Etc...
But it always gets taken out back and shot. My best performer has been Infoseek. been able to buy around 20$ and sold at 32$ 2x.
