There you have it, ladies and gents. SI can get a bigger pipe, and it won't matter. You can have a screaming fast cable modem, and it won't matter. If you're going to aggregate traffic in a big way, you've got to pony up and establish a peering relationship with the major backbones. The MAES (Metropolitan Area Ethernet Systems if memory serves) simply are not up to the job.

We need a lot bigger intersections, and a lot more of 'em. That means fiber (QWST) and fast routers and switches (VTSS). <ggg>
