Clint, I'm a relatively new person to the market. When you say market manipulation, do you mean orchestrated short squeezes or MM's walking the price up on stocks regardless of the quality of the issue. I do have a couple short positions that I feel were and are being manipulated. Stock moves up strongly on less than average volume.

Curious as to why this occurs. Are the MM's trying to get their stocks to participate in the rally (ie they were the underwriters), or do the MM's go long when they know there is a high short interest and orchestrate their own little squeeze?

I'd appreciate any of your input. Thanks

Clint,
RE" Reminds me of last March" : I presume its March 98 you're talking about - The Naz did not peak till 3rdweek April. Do you really think we have that much longer to run up - my guess is anywhere from 1-5 trading days here,

Later,
- MJ

Thanks, Clint. I am amazed by the strength of YHOO. I did not short short though I was tempted to put an order to short at 149. My thinking is that since DLJ set the price target for YHOO at 150, YHOO will need lots of firing power to break 150. It will interesting to see whether this number means anything for Yahoo traders.
