Re Syquest,,
My condolences to those good folks that honestly worked
hard for Syquest and believed in the company.
I hope your fortunes take a turn for the better.

IOM's pending lawsuit on the SparQ disks could well
have put a damper on any perspective suitor.
This should be a big plus for IOM, to the victor will go
the spoils.

I noticed that in the commentary by some of the analyst
in the Robert Lemos ZDNET article " A little Zip in every peripheral "
>>Some of it makes sense, and some of it doesn't," said Van Baker, storage
analyst at market researcher Dataquest. While a scanner that prints to a
Zip disk is close enough to a copy machine to make sense, he said, a
Zip-enabled printer is a stretch.
"Why would I want to pay more for a device that I generally hook up to the
PC?" he asked.<<

I think these guys are trapped in their PC worlds, The simple answer to the
Question is that not all printing will come from the PC. WEB TV's will
need a way to print from and to me it makes sense to have a printer
that can service that market. It would also be great to scan pictures right
on to a disk and then put it right into the printer without having to load
everything thru a PC.

Well Herb ??
