The Sony and the Orb will be noncontenders. Too late to market. EVERYONE who has a drive has a ZIP and the ZIP is a brand name, like AOL-you have to get one just because everyone else has one. If anything, Syquest offered the only real competition against IOM because they have been around for a while and their products were in the stores. Their products also received favorable reviews by PC magazine-even better than IOM in some cases. Even with that kind of recognition, they still couldn't compete against IOM.

In addition, IOM now has a CD-R, so they are ready for that revolution.
