eBay had a ton of problems today, including the inability to bid for quite a number of hours.

While an occasional kink is to be expected, this type that kept eBay down for most of the day should have been solved by now.

I am starting to think that eBay would make a good short, especially given its insane market capitalization.

For eBay to be worth anywhere near its current market cap, the company will have to be able to handle AT LEAST 10 times the number of auctions it is handling (not very well) today.

While I must assume that the company will get its act together, it is hard to imagine enough buyers/sellers for 8 million auctions per week.
