One more rambling -

The pioneers get the arrows. The settlers get the land.

If 3com, Cisco, Bay, etc could just wave the magic wand and
throw money at all their development needs, they would.

TIME is the critical factor.

That is why Cisco pays 220 million for Granite.

When Ken H made a comment that the stock was undervalued on the
conference call, what did you make of it. He has been Mr conservative
for the past year and then all of a sudden he makes a statement that
is way out on a limb. Do you think he had something to back up his
statement. Maybe some hard facts on what the technology is worth.
Think about it.

Tom

<<Roy S. is probably right. What makes any of us think that the switch is so darn hard to duplicate. 3Com throws a little money and brainpower at Gadzooks and ... Viola!>>

A technology can be an open standard. It depends on the engineering and marketing to determine who the winners will be. USRobotic came out about 10 years ago selling yet another 'modem'. I had a chance to buy as much as I can at IPO price or lower. Look where USRobotics/3COM is at today. We believe Ancor has that engineering and now marketing talents to succeed. If you don't, you are in the wrong stock.
