RE: Options account and margin

I wouldn't want to separate my option and margin accounts just for the sake of appearances. I like to sell naked puts and bullish put spreads, and those transactions require margin, not a cash account. I particularly like to leg out of the short side of wide bullish put spreads when the short side is five points or more out of the money as expiration approaches (like I hope to do with my Intel Jan 99 85's), and this requires a lot of margin. You will find the margin account particularly useful if you are short stock and want to sell puts covered by your shorts. All-in-all, a margin option account allows many exciting ways to make and lose money!
