NT workstation with only 1 or 2 drives and no
external peripherals: I pick IDE,

Thanks for jumping in....this machine is being initially assembled, ( the IDE decision has been made), with all IDE channels filled with 2 drives on the primary and cd-rom and tape on the secondary. (Other than an external modem) The only peripheral I'm currently planning is removable storage as yet undetermined which will have to be SCSI given my filled up IDE channels. With this in mind as a certainty for the near-future, how would you, or anyone else, approach the initial building with SCSI or IDE with 4 devices now and a fifth to come soon?

Should I procede as planned with filled up IDE + a one device SCSI chain (future) or keep the drives on IDE ( for cost) and have 3 SCSI devices (total in future) or some other combination?
