Bill :

Successful financial systems which become predictible bring their own failure through excess of greed and leverage (through debt, or hype).

This is why LCTM blew up, and why Tiger lost 3 Billion in October. This is also why the Yen is trading at 115 / Dollar in spite of fundamentals.

There aren't many stories around that have become more predictible than Internet stocks, and greed and leverage are near a peak IMO.

I see Ebay, "the pure internet play, worthy of valuation similar to that of AMZN" (DLJ ?) as a potential trigger to take the whole pile down.

Their business is just too down to earth for their valuation to fly much longer.
