Tim,

Market makers don't move stock prices; buy and sell orders from investors and traders move stock prices, period. This is one of the biggest fallacies that I read on message boards around the Internet.

Good luck to everybody today. No doubt it's going to be wild but the longer it goes with no buy out announcement, the more risk there is in holding this stock at the current price.

BancBoston Robertson Stephens reiterates buy rating on CIEN.
The whole report's too long publish but the analysts did note that there're 3 new products coming out in '99, and the company "appears
to be building the largest backlog in its HISTORY with which to
enter '99." As an acquisition target, it's also cheap relative to recent ceals (e.g.Packet Engine, Yurie Systems).
