DELL COMPUTER ESTABLISHES CHINA SERVICE CENTER


XIAMEN (Nov. 3) XINHUA - U.S.-based Dell Computer Corp. opened a service center today in Xiamen, a coastal city in east China's Fujian Province, in a move to expand its Chinese market.

The center, which employs 200 staffers, combines production, marketing and customer services.

Michael Dell, president and CEO, attended today's opening ceremony and noted that China is the fastest growing PC market in the Asia-Pacific Region. He said the service center demonstrates Dell's investment confidence in China.

The company. the world's leading direct marketer of computer systems, introduced direct sales to nine Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xiamen, in August this year.

Consumers can place telephone and Internet orders, and receive Dell's uniform service guarantee. Enditem
