When AB said " where not mad " when China imposed the SVCD standard, I thought he was trying to mask his disappointment and a setback. Now based on the consumer codec just announced I'm not sure.

All along he has professed that Cube was not interested in low margin products, and more importantly has been able to continue to grow with higher margin technology.( Albeit slower than I would like, but in fairness, my desires are not necessarily based in reality.).He has stated all along that the future is in DVD(even in China) :-)

Besides being ecstatic about the PC codec, more importantly it confirms a business plan that looks successful ( with the potential of being extremely so ).

I wonder how the competition is planning to explain away to their shareholders about the poor ROI on the R&D they just spent on a product that has just been made marginal at best.
