A lot of the politicians in the 50s and 60s were neat guys whether you agreed with their views or not. A lot less partisan. They could work together and get things done instead of constantly pointing their fingers. Dirksen is buried in Pekin, the marigold capital. I go by the grave when I go to Pekin on route 9. Always can remember when he said a billion here, a billion there, pretty soon that will add up to real money. I go by Stevenson's grave almost daily but he didn't say anything as witty.
