TONS of N.Calif residents dont get their drivers license for a long time after they can drive.... anybody that lives in SF doesnt need a car, and in fact it is very expensive to own one. Also Berkeley is the same way. The % of college students that have a drivers license is probably very small in the cities. They instituted this new thing, the Ca ID card from the DMV, but to get one you have to pay $20 (I think) and go stand in line at the DMV. Nobody is going to do that. Im not surprised the Dems are fighting not to require photo ids for voters - huge numbers of LEGAL voters dont have them, and these people tend to be dems. Just more right wing fanaticism regarding this issue.
