<<My question again, which you obviously don't want to think about is how many more innocent children do you want to die on this misdirected agenda: 1, 10,000, 50,000,1million, no limit?
No answer expected.>>

I'll answer you brees, not one more child should die. Many thousands have died needlessly that should be playing today.

Too bad we haven't had a president who was respected around the world, who could have put another international army together to enforce the UN weapons clean up so that sanctions could be lifted.

brees - until we have a consensus of the leaders of the countries of that part of the world (and we don't have a leader here with the standing to do that) we cannot act.

Nor can we take a leadership role and bring about meaningful change in the situations in Africa, Albania, Afghanistan, etc.

Millions are dying and will die all over the world, and we lack the kind of stature required to do anything other than wring our hands.

Mr. K.

<<no answer is expected>> Well Brees you are being a little self righteous here .As it happens I agree with you on this one . I think you will find you are going to get most of your support from the left. Our policy has been to cause the people so much pain that that they will over throw Saddam. Sounded good when Bush initiated it.Saddam was suppose to be gone in less than a year. Problem is it didn't work. Now what? First I agree with others in that this has been caused by Saddam not America. Non the less we have the power to end it . And the moral obligation to do so. I for one think we should make preventing the mass deaths you talk about our priority.I believe we still hold enough cards that in some way we can negotiate at least a partial end to the embargo in exchange for some guarantee that this potential disaster can be prevented.Yeah I know this leaves much to be desired but I think you will agree that something must be done and soon.I also believe that we must prevent him from gaining the weaponry that he seeks. I don't think these goals are inconsistent or incompatible.[s**t just burned my dinner] What is sad is that nothing will probably happen unless there is an oil shortage then watch the sanctions fly off.
