To all - (not absolutely positive on this, but ...) I think I heard that Irwin Jacobs will be on CNBC tomorrow between 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 noon (New York time).

I would suspect that Dr. Jacobs would not have agreed to go on and talk if he knew that there was lots of bad stuff in the earnings news (?)

Gregg, I would think handset business also has other attractions. Experience manufacturing and selling handsets increases Qcom's knowledge of its market for chips and software that run the handsets, spurs the company to greater innovation, and generates name recognition among the general public (i.e., the end user--consumer), which in the long run increases the stock price of the company as more potential investors become aware of the company.
