Smart Investor how long have you been short? Most who have been on SI as long as you dispense with the negative hype. I don't thing those willing to buy in a few weeks ago (double digits) were concerned then as now in reference to these fundamentals you speak of. I could be wrong but I think their risk/reward has paid off very well.
