Hi All;

Speaking of advertising, a colleague mentioned they heard a radio ad by Webley in S.F. last week. Were any of you aware Webley is doing radio ads? I'm assuming that Webley is worried about GMGCs growing awareness and wanting to create some mindshare before it's too late. I also feel that any PR by competitors helping to raise awareness of what VUI-based personal assistants are is very positive.

Like the rest of you, I'm anxiously awaiting the announcement on the 11th. I personally feel that the date was pushed out to create time to close announceable deals. I don't buy the 'we were too busy at tradeshows during October to announce earnings' line. If it had been in the best interest for the company to announce earnings early in October, then that's what would have happened. Now, whether deals really will be announceable by the 11th, we'll just have to wait and see, but I think the volume and slight pop this morning can ONLY be based on some sort of deal rumor. What else could it be?

All the best,

Drew

Great stabs, Austin.   I particularly like this one:

<<I do, however, find it a bit puzzling that the Magic has made clear that Atlanta, Georgia is one of its target markets and yet it has only one reseller with one storefront location in the entire state, while California and Illinois have 60 and 40 reseller locations, respectively. One explanation is that BellSouth may have committed already and Magic agreed not to intrude into the Georgia market in anticipation of BellSouth's beginning its efforts. All this is mere speculation that I'm sure you've all heard this before. >>

I haven't heard it before and I think the idea has a great deal of merit. Atlanta is a key area for Portico, IMO, and you've got a handle on an important clue about what carriers might be up to. Thanks.    -kgo

...and speaking of carriers, here's a "Carriers White Paper" by Andrew Seybold that addresses Portico and its value to potential carrier partners:
