Did you know the Republicans love low voter turn out; especially in un-conservative states like California and most of the West Coast.
Conservatives are more consistent in their voting turn-out while liberals are more fun loving and more flakely about going to the polls. They just like the parties after.

There are conflicting prediction about the turn-out. One citing possibility of the best mid-term turnout of over 60% while another predicting lowest with less than 35%. Low turn out will give Republican victory and vice versa for the Democrats.

In California, Democrate Gray Davis has had a very successful TV and radio campaign with the right sound bites, messages and so forth. Lungren ad's are lot less lackluster. Yet, the election is gonna be closer than the paper is tauting cos the big papers in California are very pro-democrat.

Overall, almost everyone, both Democrat and Republicans, expect Republican to make gain nation wide. A break-even return is a victory to the Democrat.

I suspect the market is sideway today waiting for the election results; and bias to the positive expecting a Republican victory.
