I think the denial statement is based on last nights articles. If PAIR had issued a true denial CNBC at this point as well as Reuters would have posted the story. They gave the takeover story too much air time to pass up reporting the company's denial. Maybe someone can call Irene and see if they have a formal response.

There is a difference between a takeover target and a rumor.

A takeover target is on going thing and that is not going away as long as the stock price and the company's technology are attractive.

A rumor is a short term thing, and that will go away.

What we have here is Pairgain, a takeover target. I can recall reading some news yesterday.

So, I think we are in for a run up. My thought about these analysts downgrading the stock is that they are trying to do themselves and their clients a favor by getting them a lower entry point on the stock.
