I met Scott from IR today. Nice folk. He seems to bring more to the table for TCBG than just PR communications, but then, maybe that's what IRs normally do. I'm still learning.

A small run of three or so pallets of BrainForest has been produced in the past couple weeks. I don't know where they are destined (I mean't to ask but there was too much to talk about in 90 minutes so I didn't get to it), but that previous post I forwarded (SI post #2012) said good things about this batch. I trust this means the machinery is running O.K.

The WalMart contract appears to be on track. When TCBG gets all the supplies gathered, WalMart will give the final word to start production of 400,000+ boxes (100,000+ cases) for he first order, followed by a standard monthly volume.

Winn Dixie is moving similarly.

Scott is quite involved with the Indy Racing League. Has been for a few years. He is the person who got WalMart and TCBG to co-sponsor Robby Unser for the latter part of this year. WalMart had formerly been uninvolved with auto racing. I asked about costs associated with racing and Scott responded that he can't discuss specifics because the contract is confidential. We did talk about typical sponsorship costs and commercial value of sponsorships.

I was also interested to learn that TCBG did not start selling their stock in the $5.00 to $8.00 range, as the charts I've examined (Quote.com, etc) suggest. The IPO was for far, far less than this. Scott has been involved in TCBG only since June '98, so he was not familiar with 1997 IPO details or stock pricing. I appreciated the help he offered in response to my IPO questions, however.

Scott gave me a 10-minute video tape of the TCBG television spot which aired two months ago. Not fully satisfied, I also managed to talk Scott out of a TCBG racing cap during the meet. Cool. The video does offer a nice glance at a Volpack 'at speed', and of Jon, JP, and Robby and other very fundamental things (mission, goal) which might interest the uninformed investor.

Though the Nestle offer is completely inactive, other deals appear to be moving forward. I'm mainly interested in seeing WalMart and Winn Dixie 'deliveries' right now, though.

Shoe.
