On Jan 22, 1998 IOM had a trading range from the 13.38 area to the 8.94 area... Gaps occur when the opening on the next day is outside the previous day's trading range... So to have a Gap, the next day's opening would have to be below 8.94 or above 13.38... It opened at 8.75 the next day which qualified it as a downside gap... So, yes, when IOM crosses 8.75 it will begin filling that old gap...
