Joey Smith:

<<1). K6-3 slipped until Q2???
2). As for risks, they don't even mention Intel response to the low-end!!! What happens when Celeron gets bumped up to 400+ earlier than expected??? I've also been hearing Intel has a few suprise announcements at Comdex regarding their product mix for early '99.>>

Is that going to stop AMD from selling all their CPUs for ASP of $100?
AMD will sell to OEM a "bucket of CPUs" of all grades desktop of 450MHz, 400MHz, 380MHz, 366MHz, 350MHz, mobile of 300, 333, 350, and K6-3 at ASP of $100. So to me it doesn't matter what Intel does AMD can still get ASP=$100 as long as they can deliver an extra 50MHz/quarter. If you don't think AMD can make it and compete now is a good time to get out. Other wise sit back and let the Golden DEC Boys put the superior architecture features of Alpha into the K7 and K8.
