Sam,

I believe I mentioned in an earlier post that Todd Bakar at H&Q thinks the Information Management Group of Seagate Software (not sold to Veritas) is worth between one-half and one billion dollars. Gus thinks it is worth less, but clearly there is some value there to SEG shareholders. In addition, SanDisk is partly held by Seagate but I can't put my fingers on the percentage ownership. At one time SNDK had a market cap over a billion dollars, making Seagate's share noteworthy. Whether or not that was a realistic valuation is certainly open to debate. Today's contribution is much less.
