I emailed Toni Beckham regarding K6-3 introduction date. She was kind enough to respond quickly to me. Highlights follow:

* AMD's guidance has been that it will introduce and begin shipment of the AMD-K6 400MHz in Q4. AMD expects to see machines on retail shelves in Q1.

* Guidance continues to be that AMD will will introduce K6-3 (Sharptooth) later in Q4. Given a production lead time of approximately 89 days (3 months), it will likely be Q2 before we can find machines at retail.

* K7 will be introduced and begin shipping in the first half on 1999.
Nothing has slipped. AMD is on schedule to meet the processor roadmap
that AMD has outlined.

My comment:

89 days seems like an awful long lead time. I'm guessing we'll be able to buy K6-3's in mid Q1'99. At least the speed grades are looking very good. Yousef can shove the 450 MHz K6-2 right up his poly gate!
