That was a rhetorical question, Mr. K., re: the stupid plan.

As for the ATF "truly emboldened by the anti-gun fervor of the Clinton Administration", there wouldn't be a bit of fear-mongering there, possibly? The whole thing was stupid and tragic. If you want to turn David Koresh into a martyr of the right, be my guest, nobody deserved to die there, but the father of many children by many young girls had some problems, I'd say.

One thing really sticks in my mind about Waco, other than all the dead men, women and children, is the claim of finding anti-tank weapons in the compound that were never shown. We got to see a bunch of AR15 rifles that are legal clones of M16s but no bazookas. If I had been in that compound with an anti-tank weapon, about to die, and a tank poked through the wall, I'd have fired that sucker off even to see if it worked. The whole thing was a Clinton/Bentsen deal to show they were tough on guns that went way wrong. Koresch had actually invited the Texas Rangers in.

Makes you think about some grandstanding with the Monica Missiles, or I should say I think about it.
