People, Keithsha is using MSFT as an example of succussful NT implementation. He forgot that articles got our about 1 year ago that MSFT internal network operations are in utter chaos! In fact the reporters that were getting quotes from internal MSFT employees used profanity to describe their internal systems. Statements like "our network is F**ked up" were quoted in the article. This report came out as a result of MSFT's "Scalability Day". No one questions that MSFT may have been able to get their company to operate on NT solutions, but MSFT is very careful to make sure that no one can do an objective review on how EFFECTIVELY their operations run. Of course Keithsha will tell you that everything is running just peachie-keen and lickity-split in Lemmingsville, but the report from last year is the one I will believe. If one tried just as hard they could get LANTastics to operate MSFT - but at what cost. That is always the part that MSFT does not tell its poor gullable customers that have unfortunately fallen for the media hype. NOVL run much of their entire network infrastructure on NDS and almost all of their production servers are now on NW5. They have allowed customers to review their network and they have done several white-papers on various components of their internal network. Unlike MSFT, NOVL is proud to show off their use of NOVL products in their environment. Unlike MSFT, they use several canned and customized solutions based on several industry available vendors and OEM platforms. As for user's internet server performance, Novell's BorderManager could dramatically improve the countless troubles that MSFT has publicly encountered on their web site! MSFT NT and IIS solutions are simply so slow that they cannot meet the current demands from their users. Even Keithsha cant hide this fact. Anyone who has gone onto the www.microsoft.com site knows how slow it is. MSFT has pumped $millions into their own solution to make the problem go away. If they would only use a 3-4 BorderManager Proxy Cache Servers their problem would be resolved. That is because BorderManager has been proven in independent tests to be over 500% faster than NT's solution. Final thought, Keithsha still hasnt figured it out. NOVL is not a DBMS company!! It simply uses a highly efficient and very mature BTreive database system as its underpinnings for NDS. There is no comparison of NDS to a MSFT alternative because NDS runs circles around MSFT's Domain structure. And as Eric Schmidt put it so elegantly, NDS has over 40 million users on NDS, MSFT's Active Directory has approximately 0 . So, Keithsha can say all he wants, but NDS has no competition right now and is not expected to even see another horse leave the gate for about another year. By that time, NDS will have gain substantially more industry support, the truth about Active Directory will being a 0.0 D.S. infant will be clear, and NDS will likely be at about 60 million users of support. Bye Bye MSFT! Again folks, a MSFT employee trying to save his skin from the NOVL train coming up quick on the stalled horse he's riding called MSFT. He feels that by throwing insult at this train that it will go away. But he will soon see that words wont stop this train from blowing right past his dead horse. Maybe if he proves that there are brains in his head and he is nice, maybe Novell will have a job for him. Toy
