The run-up on the Nikkei today was caused in part by Barton Biggs (MSDW's Global Strategist) reallocation of assets from 40 % Japan to 75 % Japan.

Biggs is the guy that sees the Dow at 6000 next year.

Betting on Japan to go up now, while betting the US goes down in the near future does not seem rational. (IMO, the entry point on the Nikkei should be around 10,000-12,000, if not lower).
