Ed,

(off topic)

Although I didn't vote for Jessie (I didn't want Humphrey in and didn't want to "waste" my vote on Ventura) his ideology is nearly identical to mine. He is for smaller government and lower taxes like Republicans, he is for better education and smaller class sizes, like most everybody, and he is pro-choice like Democrats generally are.
He hates vocal special interest groups, I can't stand a vocal %1 of the population raining on everyone elses parade because they don't like something.

Arnie Carlson, the very popular Governer who chose not to seek reelection had similar values.

The Democrats, figuring Jessie would draw votes away from the Republican candidate, demanded that Jessie be present at all debates. Can you say backfire??? A month ago Humphrey had a huge lead over Coleman and Jessie was at like 15%. This was truly great.

Now we need ANCR to "shock the world!"
