Gary,

Think you're being too kind. I've had those problems with a 28.8K connection and tried 2 other ISPs with no success. Signal's server can be very buggy, to say the least.

When its up and running, the 28.8 handles the feed just fine.

Alan

Gary,

Thanks for the insights. I don't understand all of it, but I did have a Uunet ISP which was supposed to be most compatible with MBT and always had quote freezes on a regular basis. Now I am on Sprint (Earthlink) and the performance is identical. I believe Townsend sends via MCI initially, but as you point out, there can be a number of transfers, not all on the same backbone. I am searching for a "killer ap" solution to this problem. I get great quotes and executions most of the time, but I frequently miss the most lucrative plays because the freezes come at market turns (volume spikes). So my percentages are severely affected by this problem. I'm going to keep working on it. Let me know if you get any more ideas.

Rick

I am inclined to add uunet as isp #2 IF the 56k doesn't work, they have an ok isdn setup. I will write townsend as you suggest
