OT-----
Boxer in CA and Bunning in KY...I thought the same thing...

Newt thinking 10-40 seats gained was a possibility a few weeks ago...now the party doesn't even have the balls to admit that their strategy sucked..."we're sticking with the issues that the people have told us were important"...yeah, right...and that extra ten million spent on anti-clinton adds last week? If the Rep party had a damned clue they woulda had no problem picking up a few seats...serves 'em right for thinking we are too stupid to figure it out...they have great issues, but didn't even bother to really push them...didn't mean to get on a soapbox here but the Rep's have just been fools in their strategy, and can't even admit it... GOOOOOO TDFX!!!

*OT* Political Diatribe

I think you're going to have to declare shenanigans on them. Where's my broom? :)

It's the liberal media. Cokie Roberts was absolutely giddy over the fact that Dems were picking up seats in the House. There on ABC sat the three pillars of liberal media bias: Peter Jennings, Sam Donaldson, and Cokie Roberts, while over at the kiddie table sat the one real conservative (can't remember his name), the sorta conservative (George Will), and pretty boy (George Stephanopoulos.)

Quite humorous. I'm not sure how George Will puts up with the treatment he gets at ABC. He is the most level headed, unbiased and insightful of the anchors on the program, yet it became the "Sam and Cokie Show" when Brinkley left and Will barely gets a mention.

Remember, it was Peter Jennings who declared what a horrible day it was for America (on national television) when the GOP took control of the House six years ago.

Pat, don't even get me started. . . Oh, never mind, you already did. :)

BTW: Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike biased media just because they're biased against my political philosophy. Limbaugh is also biased, but he doesn't pretend not to be.

Do any of you non-Texans know anything about George Bush (Texas Governor, not ex-prez?) From here it looks like he'll be the front-runner for the GOP in '00 for President if he decides to run. I'm wondering how much presence he has outside of Texas. I'm sure the RNC will start parading him about in the next couple of years to get his face more recognized.

Sorry about Fong Pat. I was hoping Boxer and Mosely-Braun would be able to retire together. :)
