Why don't we buckle down and save the existing system? We don't have the leverage. As things are now, the big teacher unions and the bureaucrats that control the purse-strings have all the leverage.

< because rich and middle class people don't wan their kids around poor kids. > I'm sure some don't, but I think many welcome the diversity...if their kids are getting a good education. In fact, I'm sure many would consider exposing their children to a diverse group of people to be a part of a good education.
