My grandparents are dead but I think they told me they came here on a ship. Of course a much nicer ship than the ones that brought all of our countries African American ancestors here. I don't think my grandparents had to slink in. Actually I doubt that there was much of a demand to leave there homeland. My grandparents were sort of artsy fartsy so they felt they could express themselves better here......I think.

So much for my knowledge of the family tree.
