SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Macromedia (Nasdaq: MACR) today announced that its Board of Directors has approved a new repurchase program of up to an additional two million of the Company's outstanding common shares to partially offset the dilutive effects of the Company's Equity Incentive Plan. This authority is in addition to the stock buyback program Macromedia announced in July 1997 for up to two million shares of its common stock. Through September 30, 1998, Macromedia has purchased 1,340,000 shares of common stock under the original authority. The Company currently has approximately 38 million shares of common stock outstanding.
