Tim, Once you move beyond the fact that MBT and Block are/were both geared toward daytraders, it becomes fairly challenging to find many similarities between the two firms.

I would drive there today if i had the offer to do so and my main concern is what happened to Block trading (closed the doors without any warning).

Tim,

For what it's worth I went down to MBT when I was opening my account. Their operation is much like any trading company. There's a bunch of people sweating over computers and working phones. That's all there is to see. I would second what many others have said: the service with MBT is unlike anything I've ever seen in any business. Yesterday I had a problem with my buy orders not going live instantly. Turned out to be slow Nasdaq executions. I called MBT and talked to Ross. He gave me four free executions because of the problem I had and instantly flashed messages over the system that Nasdaq was having execution probs. I also used to hang out in MBT's mIRC site. They have full time live tech support all day there. You will never find that any where else in the business.

The idea you are miffed at them because Ross didn't return your call is silly IMO. The guy handles hundreds of call per day. If you are serious about connecting with them, it's really not that hard.

Ps. For that matter, there is nothing stopping you from driving down there and walking in the door. There's no security guard or anything.
