According to the subject search I just did, there has been no mention of tie ratio here since the CEO mis-spoke on CNBC.

Man, tie-ratios used to be THE central topic for discussion. The Longs' battle cry was, "It's the DISKS, stupid!" Bears argued that few users needed 100mgs. (remember those days?!!) Now IOM's taken a step down a whole tie-ratio new road, and virtually nothing is being said about the potential for where it might lead....particularly in regards to tie-ratios.

Yesterday's article on the front page of the business section of the Denver Post brought out the point that the inclusion of Zips in non-computer devices such as scanners and printers allows numerous people to share a device while keeping their stuff secure and separate. So, when the Zipped scanner/printer/etc. hits the office, will everyone be issued a 10 pak of discs.....just for starters?

Consider also the impact on the move towards becoming The Standard. As has been pointed out here repeatedly in response to the announcement de jur of the pending release of the next Zip killer, In order to supplant an established and growing user base, Zip killers have to be signifigantly better in real world use. Marginal performance/price differences will not be enought to change the direction of the market's flow.
