I believe you are way off base.

>>1)possibly over time syqt owners will replace their current drives with other models (mainly IOMs)- you can't use a drive for long without available media<<

A lot of people who bought Syquest products did so after reading the horror stories about Iomega's products and "Customer Service." Others bought Syquest because of the desire to go against the flow. This will not change. YOu forget that Castlewood Orb is due on store shelves at the end of THIS month. The MR-tech Orb is $199 with $29 2.2 Gig discs. It blows away Jaz2, SparQ, Syjet--everything. This drive is going to steal MAJOR sales away from Jaz2.

>>2) even if a dump occurs, nomai, i believe, has the only concurrent license to manufacture syqt disks and they've been manufacturing such at a profit; <<

WHOOAHH! Hold on there, pardner. Nomai had been reporting LOSSES. And Nomai's manufacturing had been producing Syquest's LEGACY (44MB, 88MB, 200MB, etc.) cartidges, not Syjet or SparQ.

>>3) it's possible short sellers will underestimate buying/holding power<<

Not likely. IOM has a long, rich history of disappointing Longs. IOM has a long history of drawing in loads of newbie Sucker investors with Hype and a promise of floppy replacement that never seems to materialize. Zip has replaced NOTHING.

>>it's a new game<<

Nope, same old same old. The stock price in late December/January will bear this out.

Say Darrell, in reading your post a light bulb
went off.

What if Iomega started an ad campaign such as:
"Send us your outdated Syqt drive, upgrade to
the next data storage standard, and we'll rebate
you $50". Or, "we'll include a 10 back of disks."
This would bring even more attention to the masses
that Syqt is not only out of business but if you
have one of their drives, soon you won't be able
get available media or service on it.
