>>To my knowledge, there's never been any evidence that the fire that sent the camp up in smoke was intentionally set during the FBI attack, but I'm sure tha's still a popular theory amoung the "who killed Vince Foster" crowd.<<

Hmmm, one interesting tidbit about Foster I saw on the Frontline website review of Waco was that Vince Foster was in on the meeting between Reno and then Asst. General Webb Hubbell. Could it be he was overwhelmed with guilt, thus the suicide. Maybe the screams of the burning children kept him up at night. <g>

Daniel - re: Clinton getting blamed for the Waco fire -- Theories are like the proverbial butt-crack; everybody has one and unfortunately, some people like to show their's off. <vbg>

Koresh is at least partially to blame - he failed to account for the possibility of a rapidly expanding fire.

Clinton is, IMO, clearly responsible for deliberately inculcating the "gun-toting, dangerous right-wing" myth, and that created a climate where law enforcement could broadly stretch their role when using force against those right-wing wackos of the now-named "vast right wing conspiracy."

As far as blaming Clinton for everything wrong in the world, I think he deserves as much. He and his party certainly have no compunction about lying, withholding and hiding evidence, soliciting and taking illegal campaign contributions, using secret files to intimidate opponents, spinning half-truths, investigating enemies and taking advantage of friends in the media to further those perversions of the office of the Presidency.
