this time, or both long and short?

Welcome to the thread:-)

I started the day with an equal number of short AMZN shares and long shares. I am selling some of my long shares so as to participate in a stock price drop with the hope it occurs. I plan on buying those long shares back prior to close so that some news announcement, such as videos, does not burn me on the short side. It simply is a hedge. It keeps me from needing to locate shares to short each day and I so not need an uptick to be short more shares.
