Thanks Howard! I think this issue demonstrates the value of USB. I'll have to chase the USB technology further - have to wonder if some enterprising soul hasn't found a way to wrap existing interfaces into a USB package.

Also have seen those packages, PCI boards I think, offering MORE serial ports. Another area I clearly need to research.
